What is Casio's natural display on fx-991ES and fx-82ES?

The natural textbook display is a way of displaying formulae in the closest possible way to handwriting. For example, fractions are displayed vertically. This makes it easy to write and edit formulae naturally without the complicated brackets. It is enabled by default on supporting calculators, including fx-82ES and fx-991ES. You can enable MathO mode using SHIFT SETUP, 1.

How to reset Casio fx-991ES or fx-82ES?

  1. Turn the calculator on with the ON button. There is no hardware reset button on the back.
  2. SHIFT 9 to enter Reset. A list of items which can be reset are shown.
  3. 3 to select the Reset All option.
  4. = to confirm the reset. The calculator has been reset at this point.
  5. AC to return to normal calculation, or SHIFT AC to turn the calculator off.

Are the Casio calculators available as Android APK (fx-991ES or fx-82ES)?

There are no Android emulators available for the Casio calculators. You can download the Casio emulator from this site, see below.

Is fx-991ES a programmable calculator?

No, the Casio fx-991ES PLUS is not a programmable calculator. The calculator can solve equations, but it is not programmable. This means the calculator is suitable for many exams, such as A-levels

    I have a question: on the German market there is a variant available, namely the Casio FX-991DE X. Do you happen to know what are the differences between that one and your emulated version? (I mean, apart from some language terms).

      Currently the emulator isn’t available for macOS. Do you have a virtual machine you could run it in? I’ve had success using Wine on macOS too which doesn’t require a VM.

        Hello George. Thanks for the quick reply! It works perfectly. I can defenitely use this emulator in class. Apparently, most of the students use a more recent model: the 82 Plus. The design is slightly different but I could not see any difference with repsect to the buttons of both models. However, do you, by chance, also have an emulator for the Casio fx-82 PLUS?     I have a Casio fx-20 scientific calculator dating from the mid 70s. Been well looked after. Today it stopped working (used it earlier in the day). The display is lit (a 0 lights up) -- but the keys cannot be activated. None of them works. I checked the batteries and changing them made no difference. Is there a way to open it up and maybe clean something inside? I love it and want to continue using it. Thank you.

          The zip contains three executables. The ones entitled 'Run _' are the emulators for the two models of Casio calculator that these tutorials encompass: fx-82ES and fx-991ES PLUS. The third file is a 'common' file with resources needed—you don't need to run this yourself.

          No, but they work great for me in macOS with Wine. I can try to create pre-wrapped Wine versions of the emulators so you don't have to install Wine yourself, if that's something you'd like?
